the land of the free

I should be writing something completely different right now, but some of the current events have sent me to straight to the blog. Since soon I might get arrested for, I don’t know, making fun of the brilliance of the US financial system or something and then get convicted as a terrorist, here is my farewell to privacy and freedom.

The following have been found in Manhattan. Weirdos and no-English speakers of New York, I love you. Keep speaking up!

I am not in the business of making fun of the sick people, but after a friend who saw this asked me whether there is People without AIDS Plaza in New York, I had to post the pic online.

As many of you know, I am a dedicated follower of the kidney and love markets…

Clearly the economic slump is hitting even the most ancient of the professions.

Watching Dow this morning and then locating this sign on one of the sidewalks of East Village I wondered if they might be related.

Reading news headlines this morning and then locating this sign on one of the sidewalks of East Village I wondered if they might be related.

Now, happy living to all! :D

Fine, fine, here is a silver and gold lining.

signs of wonder

a collection from my travels this fall.  Hyderabad airport, India. I thought this was cute and reflected my state of mind, considering the Kingfisher jet in the background :)  Cochin, India. Dutch people never stop smiling. Great to know.  Boryspil airport, Ukraine. No wonder the West thinks all Ukrainians are drunks.  Boryspil airport, Ukraine. You are completely on your own with this one. :-o

to follow up

Following up on the post from Dec 18thне шюткиNew York City MTA should do something about the subway warnings in Russian. Or not. I dont mind having a good laugh every once in a while.—Also, it is exactly a year since I came back from Ghana. I miss this ever-grinning country with its marvelous signs and ads.

unbelievable, but absolutely true

It is incredible, but controversial Mr. Jacob Zuma will be leading the ANC from now on. That means that he most probably will become the next South African President. sigh. Reminds me of many similar situation of politicians getting their way in one very familiar country. Not any less incredible was the following sign in New York subway that I captured with my phone. If you read Russian, hope it just made your day.залазь в поезд!
